Welp, it’s been another weekend without NightWatch frisbee, but the AUDL was far from silent. Here’s a look at what went down this past weekend with an eye towards the ultimate world in the South.
AUDL South Results:
Dallas 24, Raleigh 18
The clash of the titans went down Saturday night as undefeated Dallas handed Raleigh its first loss of the season. These two teams had combined for 7 wins coming into this matchup and remain the top 2 teams in the South, with Atlanta 1 game back of Raleigh for 2nd place. Dallas’ closest matchup of the season ended with the Roughnecks winning by 6.
Jacksonville 23, Atlanta 18
Atlanta was supposed to be a team with a dynamic offense and some question marks on defense. That has not been the case thus far this season as the Hustle sport a +11 point differential and 3-2 record in spite of an offense that has managed just over 21 points per game. Jacksonville (2-3) needed this win after losing to Dallas and Austin, the former by 15, during their swing through Texas in Week 4.
Dallas 30, Charlotte 18
The talk about Charlotte (1-4) has been similar to that of Nashville: the record might not show it, but the improvements are there. Dallas handled the improved Express easily in a game that was nowhere near close. Beau Kittredge (22 goals) and Jimmy Mickle (26 assists) are clicking well and often. Dallas has won 5 games by an average of 11 points per. Shane Sisco (13 goals, 100 points played) managed 3 goals in this one and Jesse Lieberman dished out 6 assists for Charlotte.
After 5 weeks of play, here are your AUDL South standings:
Team Wins Losses Point Differential
Dallas 5 0 56
Raleigh 4 1 7
Atlanta 3 2 11
Jacksonville 2 3 -11
Nashville 1 3 -20
Austin 1 4 -20
Charlotte 1 4 -23
The NightWatch take the field again this Saturday, May 7 against the Charlotte Express. Game time is 6 PM at Overton High School. Monkey Bowl 28 is this weekend as well (May 7-8) and will commence at Ted Rhodes park.
Let’s just say Nashville will be in the ultimate spotlight this weekend.
