Sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY!
This Sunday, May 29 to be exact, the Nashville NightWatch return home to welcome perhaps the best team in the league, the Dallas Roughnecks. Dallas has a sparkling undefeated record and has been clicking on all cylinders. Nashville, on the other hand, is in a bit of a rut following a rough trip to Texas. Some of the biggest stars in ultimate play for the Roughnecks. It will be a good opportunity for Nashville to measure up against the best in the league.
Sunday, May 29
Dallas Roughnecks @ Nashville NightWatch
Where They Stand: Nashville (1-7, 7th in South); Dallas (7-0, 1st in South)
Last Matchup: Dallas roughed up the NightWatch last Sunday, May 22, with a 33-15 victory. Dallas’ offense scored at will, and Nashville’s stalled. The 2nd game of Nashville’s 2nd back-to- back weekend was the worst of the season for the NightWatch by far.
For Nashville, it’s time for Paul Lally to do what Paul Lally did all of last year, score. Lally has been hampered by injury this year, missing 2 games with lower leg issues. Yet, Paul has still put up solid rate stats, with 30 goals in 127 points—good for scores on 23% of the points in which he has played. Lally was a constant spark on offense last year and needs to continue to be in this roughneck matchup.
Kai Marshall was a beast in Dallas last weekend, putting up 8 goals on Nashville. He, along with Cassidy Rasmussen (4 assists, 2 goals), constitute only a fraction of the Dallas star power. Given that this article has a word limit, we’ll leave that at that.
The big trio of Conger, Waldron, and Chazin are back together again—Can we call them the platinum trio yet? Without Conger and Waldron last weekend, the Nashville offense was less-than- stellar and its defense even worse. It will be good to see the chemistry flowing again amongst these three solid players this Sunday.
